We are proud to be apart of whl.travel, and are passionate about sharing our destination with travellers. Bucharest is a city rich in history, with unique customs and traditions that are still practiced today. We are fond of working with people, interacting with different cultures and going above and beyond to provide the best service. We are involved in a few social and cultural projects, especially in the Oltenia area. For example, we are periodically donating money for the orphanage of Ramnicu Valcea. Also, we partially renovated and endowed the kindergarten of the village of Cernisoara.
Regarding cultural projects, we periodically organize free excursions for children from kindergartens and schools near Ramnicu Valcea to the pottery centre of Horezu, in order to familiarize the children with this ancient art and to preserve this tradition.
We are most passionate about the traditions and customs that exist in Romania. We have a very rich and dramatic history of more than 2000 years, but unfortunately it's not very well-known by foreign visitors and often distorted (e.g. Dracula). We would be proud to show a visitor our real history, the spectacular vestiges of the Dacian Sarmisegetuza, the real Vlad Tepes castle and many other things that people don't know about!
Did you know that when a girl is able to get married, all the eligible bachelors go to her house and sing and dance, and there are different contests to receive the girl's hand in marriage? Meet your local connection in Bucharest, Roxana Ionescu of Travel Biz. Roxana worked for many years in marketing and events field in the IT field, and was in touch with the tourism domain. This sparked her fascination for this industry and so she took up the opportunity to make a career change and start up Travel Biz! Apart from travel, she enjoys learning about ancient cultures, animals, old Bucharest, sports and dancing!
What We Do
"We think that Romania has a huge touristic potential and that the main part of this potential is still unexploited, and also because our country has so much to offer...here travellers can find untouched natural areas, a genuine traditional way of life, and a great cultural and historical heritage. All this could make Romania a great destination for many tourists and we have the duty to preserve and develop these elements that make Romania unique.."
Starting in 2000 as a two member team and with standard tourist services, we have managed in just a few years to expand our team to 20 people and develop some more complex services, including transportation services, international car rentals, transfers, ticketing with any airline company, corporate tourism, rural, ecological and cultural tourism, and much more.
Today we offer all types of tours in Romania, from cultural trips to the Saxon towns and monasteries, and tours to the rural areas of Romania in the wonderful countryside and to have the chance to interact with the people of Romania and its fascinating customs and ancient traditions. We also offer ecological trips to the UNESCO World Heritage Danube delta, famous for its rare saline-marine ecosystems and also trips to the interesting nature reserve of the Apuseni Mountains and caves.
We are members of some of the world's most prestigious associations (IATA, WATA, ASTA, ANAT and JATA). We are also a partner of ANTREC, the National Association for Ecological and Rural Tourism and in 2005 organized the World's Rural Tourism Conference. In 2009 we intend to proceed with the construction of an agro-touristic accommodation unit around the Horezu area in Valcea County. Along with this lodging, we wish to launch a new concept on the Romanian tourist market: Rediscovering the Romanian village life and the possibility to actively participate in all its activities.
